Nokia Ready to Illuminate AT&T

By Ermal Hajrizi

Nokia’s new flagship Lumia 900, complete with the freshest serving of Windows Phone 7, is up for pre-order at AT&T. The phone, featuring a large 4.3” ClearBlack display, 4G LTE, and an array of colors, will be available for consumer hands on April 8th.

Pricing for the phone is set to be $99.99 on-contract, a relatively low price considering other phones that have been pushing the limits with nearly $300 price-points. To sweeten the deal, AT&T has announced that its making a full discount available online in the form of a rebate for new customers, bringing the phones cost to free.

This isn’t a big surprise, however, as AT&T has said that its “going big” with the launch of the Lumia 900. They are reportedly ready to put the phone front-and-center in their retail stores, and, in addition, have provided their employees with the phone so that they can be accustomed to the smartphone. Nokia is definitely making a strong and aggressive push, which is good, because the Lumia is one beautiful phone.

Hello, future. Farewell, past.

By Ermal Hajrizi

Future nostalgia: an idea so paradoxical, yet so simple in the right context. Technology, a term so general, it encompasses nearly every device that we use to simplify our lives today, from the awe-inspiring computer in your pocket we call a smartphone, to the HDTV you keep your eyes glued to on late nights when sleep doesn’t come.

Technology is a mixture of the past and the future, what has happened, and what is yet to come. We talk about the past and the gadgets and gizmos that have graced humanity. The nostalgic reminiscence of the very first computer, or the very first website, or even a trek back a few years, to the very first smartphones. We talk about the future of technology, and how fast it might progress. The dreams of visionaries stir rumors of new confluences of silicon and intelligence, and everyday people wonder what the next big thing will be.

As an enthusiast, I don’t wander in the present. I am someone who delves into the amazing achievements of our past. I am someone who analyzes the possibilities of the future. I am future nostalgia.

This blog will be many things. There will be daily news. There will be opinions. There will even be some random things. I hope you enjoy.

P.S. - What in the world did I just say?
